Coaching Completion Policy

Urban Teachers believes that excellent teachers develop over time through engagement in quality instructional coaching and consistent planning, practice, and reflection of instruction. In order to continuously improve their teaching practice and become effective teachers, participants are expected to engage in all coaching activities. Expectations include collaborating and coordinating with their coach to schedule instructional coaching activities for the appropriate duration and intensity, as well as adhering to guidance communicated by their coach. Any schedule changes that will impact coaching activities should be communicated as soon as possible. Participants have shared responsibility, with their coach, to manage all of their instructional coaching activities and materials within Whetstone. This includes uploading lesson plans, samples of student work, videos, and other required evidence. Failure to complete all required coaching activities due to negligence on the part of the participant will render a participant subject to disciplinary action, up to and including dismissal from the Urban Teachers program.
