To progress and successfully complete the Urban Teachers program, a participant must meet all performance expectations and program requirements, and adhere to all state, district, school, Urban Teachers and the Johns Hopkins University conduct policies. Participants who do not meet all program expectations are subject to dismissal.
Urban Teachers and the Johns Hopkins University may uphold different participant policies. When we state Urban Teachers, we are referring to a policy exclusive to Urban Teachers. When we state the Johns Hopkins University, we are referring to a policy exclusive to the University.
In addition to demonstrating that one is an effective teacher, there are coursework grades, GPA requirements, attendance expectations, and state/district teacher credentialing requirements for completing the Urban Teachers program. The table below gives a thumbnail overview of the various program requirements that are more fully discussed throughout this handbook. It is the responsibility of the participant to read and become familiar with all program policies and requirements in their entirety. If you have questions at any time about meeting the program requirements, please consult your City Assistant Director for guidance.
