Great teachers are the key to combating racial and socioeconomic inequality. We prepare highly effective teachers who are committed to teaching students in the districts that need them most and empowering every child through learning.
Urban Teachers launched its program with the first cohort in 2010 with 39 residents split between two cities - Baltimore and Washington, DC. Since 2010, we’ve welcomed 1,078 aspiring teachers for district and charter schools in both cities. In 2016, Urban Teachers expanded to Dallas/Fort Worth and currently has over 250 teachers in the program there. Urban Teachers expects to expand in our three cities and to new regions over the next few years.
